Our Story

Made to be kept.

Most lip color is made to be replaced. A shade arrives, has its season, and disappears — usually before you've finished the tube. And you rarely finish it, because something never quite worked. Dry by four. Wrong in daylight. Good enough to buy, never good enough to reach for twice.

Laila Rose began in 2022 on the opposite premise: own very few things, and have them be the right ones.

That's mostly a formulation problem. Anything built to be finished has to survive the four hundredth day — it can't separate, bleed, or turn. So ours is built in two halves, and we'd rather explain both than let you guess.

The half that cares for you is botanical: avocado, meadowfoam, grape seed, camellia, and coconut oils, with mango seed butter for cushion. The half that makes it last is engineered — polymers holding those oils in suspension, an antioxidant keeping them from turning. We could have left that part out. A woman who reads ingredient lists deserves to know which half is the garden and which is the engineering.

You'll feel the peppermint before you see the color. It isn't for everyone, and we'd rather say so now than hear about it later.

Five shades. Three cream, two pearl. No new one every spring.

The name is a family name. You lend a name you love only to something you mean to last.
